A friend recently made a trip to Idaho and brought me this pendant. My dear husband picked out the beads several months ago. I felt they matched perfectly.
Sorry once again I don't know what the stones are called. I need to spend more time learning to identify different stones.

Day 7 - Happy Aftermath
I'm to old to work and play as hard as I do and then still expect to get up early the next morning refreshed and ready to start a new day. We went to a friends house for a 4th of July BBQ last night and stayed way to late for a work night. But we had a great time.
The cool grey skies are not helping me wake up and get moving either. Oh, but I hope it RAINS!!! Not only do we so need it, but I love a good summer time rain, they are so rare. Since I am feeling blurry and the sky is grey I think the piece I made this morning reflects these very well.
A friend gave me the black and green pendant from her abundant stash. She is a jewelry maker also. David picked out the green beads a long time ago and I didn't think I'd ever figure out what to do with them. He also selected the Hemitite. Unfortunately I don't know what the green beads are nor the pendant.

Day 6 - Flying the Colors
I hope you will understand and forgive me but because tomorrow (day 6) is the 4th of July, I am going to post a day early. I don't plan to spend my day off 1. making jewelry 2. sitting in front of a computer writing a blog. Sorry.
David & I have been invited to a friends house tomorrow evening for a BBQ so I think I will be wearing these;
Along with the necklace from day 3
Curious, I just noticed that the date on the camera is wrong.
I really did take the pic this morning 07/03/2012.

Day 5 - peas in a pod
One of my other favorite things to do is garden.
This morning I pick these;
First, I fixed a broken ankle bracelet that I had in my jewelry making bin.
I didn't feel like this was enough to really qualify as a challenge so I started digging through all my "green" peas.....I mean beads. :)

A sneak preview.
the wheels are turning. I'm not saying this will be tomorrows piece, just keep watching it will turn up one of these days.
Day 4 - Fire on the Mountain
Living in the West we are experiencing an early fire season this summer due to a very dry spring and extreme hot summer. Yesterday morning I told my husband that it was a question of would we have wildfires here in our valley this summer but simply a matter of when. Yesterday afternoon was the first "When" of the season.
The air quality was pretty bad this morning due to all the smoke.
Yes, this is still a blog about Jewelry. I imagine by now you are probably wondering.
Today's piece was inspired from yesterdays ashes. Whoa that's sounding almost scriptural.

Day 3 - The old red white and blue
I figured I had better make a necklace for the fourth of July before the 4th of July.
I have really come to like the asymmetrical style. I think it is a style that has to grow on you. Most people are use to jewelry being symmetrical. I remember the first time I saw an asymmetrical necklace that a friend made It really bothered me, I kept wanting to reach out and fix it. I thought she had just made a mistake and didn't notice.
That same friend gave me most of the stones in this necklace.
There is moonstone, sodalite, freshwater pearls, and a couple other types that unfortunately I don't know their names, but I know that I like them.
